“I successfully secured the funding in 2022 under a special project approved by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. The funds were channelled to Miri City Council for implementation,” he was quoted as saying.

The project, spanning 11.03 hectares, is expected to take 12 months to complete. It not only focuses on beautifying Taman Awam Miri but also aims to attract tourists, particularly those who appreciate nature and geological structures.

“This area is especially appealing for fitness enthusiasts. I hope that once completed, it will become an ideal spot for families to enjoy leisure activities together,” Lee added.

Phase four of the project includes upgrades to the main entrance, rest areas, public restrooms, and a pavilion.

The park will also feature three types of trails, including jogging and geological pathways.

Additionally, the project includes improvements to the drainage system and a more efficient electrical infrastructure. — DayakDaily
