‘PH losing 3 by-elections in a row means people fed-up with Putrajaya’

Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing

KUCHING, April 15: The recent by-election wins by Barisan Nasional (BN) in Rantau, Cameron Highlands and Semenyih reflected the discontentment of Malaysian voters towards Pakatan Harapan (PH) for failing to keep their promises.

Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing opined that the many policy U-turns made by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad indicated that he was not quite focussed on matters of the state.

“He (Dr Mahathir) shouldn’t continue to play the ‘blame game’ every time PH fails to administer this nation. PH was elected to govern, let them govern this country,” he said.

“Former BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak didn’t accuse Dr Mahathir nor Tun Abdullah Badawi if he made mistakes during his tenure as the prime minister.”

Masing, who is also a deputy chief minister, added that Najib didn’t blame Dr Mahathir’s 22 years as prime minister for creating kleptocracy or national debt and also as president of the United Malays National Organisation (Umno) during his reign.

“Blame game is not an excuse for PH’s failures and incompetence,” argued Masing. — DayakDaily
