“We want to give back to the society by doing our best as their new leaders in this new government,” he told reporters covering the PKR Chinese New Year open house at PKR Stampin Branch here today.

Baru emphasised that PH leaders knew their responsibilities well.

“There is one thing I would like to emphasise here, and that is that under the government of Pakatan Harapan (PH), we have the commitment to do the best we can, having been given the mandate to be the leaders of the new government.”

Baru, who is also Minister of Work, reiterated that PH came to power at a difficult time in the history of the nation, particularly from the economic aspect.

He thanked the people for supporting PH all these years before the 14th general election on May 9, 2018, and to those who continue to support them today.

On their CNY open house this year, Baru described it as very unique and special because it is the first time that PKR celebrated Chinese New Year as the government of the day.

Present at the open house were state Democratic Action Party (DAP) chief Chong Chieng Jen, Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin and Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How. — DayakDaily
