According to a media release, the film is set in a charming and typical Malaysian flat where people from diverse races live together harmoniously. It tells the story of a close-knit community that looks out for one another.

The narrative centers around Faizul, played by award-winning actor Beto Kusyairi, a dedicated security guard who consistently goes above and beyond his duties to help his neighbours.

As the story unfolds, Faizul is pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming support he receives from the community he serves.

PETRONAS senior general manager of Strategic Communications, Group Strategic Relations and Communications, Siti Azlina Abdul Latif highlighted that the film embodies the spirit of neighbourliness, symbolising the strong unity among Malaysians.

“‘PenJAGA’ inspires us to continue caring for one another, nurturing a spirit of independence that is resilient, harmonious, and progressive.

“Aligned with PETRONAS’ 50th anniversary celebration this year with the theme ‘Continuing a legacy together for our future’, the film is also a reminder that we owe our solid foundation to those who have supported us in good faith that we will continue to make Malaysia proud, locally and abroad,” she said.
