Petronas extends assistance to SK Sebauh hostel fire victims

BINTULU, Aug 26: Petronas subsidiaries here have reached out to 56 pupils affected by the recent hostel fire at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sebauh.

According to a press release, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) subsidiaries Petronas LNG 9 Sdn Bhd, Malaysia LNG Group of Companies and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd-Sarawak Gas collectively contributed bed frames, blankets, pillows, bed sheets, toiletries, face masks, washing machines and school bags to the students.

The items were handed over to the school during a ceremony which was attended by Minister of Utilities Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, managing director and chief executive officer of Petronas LNG 9 Sdn Bhd and Malaysia LNG Group of Companies Mohamed Syazwan Abdullah @ Laga Jenggi and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd-Sarawak Gas manager Mijun Nasin.

“I hope this gesture will help to ease the immediate burden of the pupils and teachers of SK Sebauh and motivate the pupils in their studies,” Mohamed Syazwan highlighted.

Besides providing disaster relief, Petronas also provided face masks to secondary schools in and around Bintulu last month to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 as schools nationwide reopens. — DayakDaily
