BINTULU, Aug 5: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) is an important partner to Sarawak following its immense contribution to ensure that every oil and gas (O&G) product is translated into development of the State.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee said this shows the commitment of the multinational company as an important partner of Sarawak.
He further explained that Bintulu, for example, is an industrial centre that is very important for the O&G industry, especially with the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Complex owned by PETRONAS Malaysia LNG (MLNG) which has been operating for 40 years and has helped a lot in the development of Sarawak and Malaysia.
“Obviously, this requires a collective effort from all, from the government, the private sector and the local community.
“I believe this is proof of PETRONAS’ legacy and commitment as an energy partner and progressive solutions that enhance livelihoods for a sustainable future,” he said while speaking during the Orchid Run & Fun Ride 2024 programme organised by PETRONITA on Saturday (Aug 3).
Over 2,500 participated in the programme which took place in conjunction with PETRONAS’ 50th anniversary. — DayakDaily
