KUCHING, Feb 15: Brand Finance — the world’s leading brand valuation authority — has included Petronas president and Group chief executive officer (CEO) Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin into its list of the 100 best Global Brand Guardians for 2019.

This is the first time Wan Zulkiflee joins other big names such as Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Google’s Sundar Pichai and Shell’s Ben Van Beurden.

According to a publicity release today, Wan Zulkiflee, who is ranked #95 in the world, received the recognition by Brand Finance due to his visionary leadership, prudent management and successful track record in steering the national oil and gas company and the industry forward through some of the most turbulent and challenging years in recent times.

Based on the world’s top companies by portfolio brand value, extracted from the Brand Finance Global 500 2019, the new ranking rates CEOs to capture how well they measure up as brand managers.

Brand Finance’s ranking rates CEO’s success in marketing investment, stakeholder equity and business performance.

Wan Zulkiflee’s inclusion in the Top 100 list complements Petronas’ climb up this year’s Top 500 Most Valuable Brands list, moving up to #127 from #132 in 2018. — DayakDaily
