KUCHING, Nov 25: Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) expressed its appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for including the party into the fold of the new unity government.
Its president Datuk Larry Sng believes that PBM will be included, as Anwar highlighted three parties with few seats, including PBM and Sng, during his first conference as Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister yesterday.
Anwar was speaking on a unity government which will make up three main coalitions, comprising Pakatan Harapan (PH), Barisan Nasional (BN) and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
Apart from the above three coalitions, Anwar also said his new government will have a convincing majority together with other parties like Parti Warisan, Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) and Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) which was represented by Julau MP Larry Sng.
“We are most honoured to work alongside with him in the new administration,” said Sng when contacted.
For PBM, a party with only one MP and also acknowledged by Anwar, Sng again described it as “an honour”.
Sng however, refused to speculate on any appointment as it is the prerogative of the prime minister.
PBM contested in five parliamentary seats in the just concluded 15th General Election and only Sng won in Julau, which is a rural seat in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
