KUCHING, Jan 6: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) Southern Zone leader Lue Cheng Hing is urging the relevant authorities in particular Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) to cut the trees and maintain the drainage off Lorong Liu Shang Bang.

Lue in a statement today said the overgrown trees along the drain if left unattended would break the drain’s walls and cause them to collapse.

He added that if that happened, taxpayers’ money would be needed to reconstruct the retaining walls.

Shrubs have grown on the retaining wall of the drain.

“According to residents in this area, the trees had grown for an extended time and it is an eyesore to a beautiful park.

“Often snakes are seen in the bushes and this could cause much danger to people passing by or residents living around the area.

“This place along the drains could be beautified by turning it into a flower garden,” he said.

Hence, Lue also suggested that MPP maintain the drains regularly. — DayakDaily
