KUCHING, April 30: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) urges its supporters to back Pakatan Harapan-Democratic Action Party (PH-DAP) candidate Mordi Bimol in Mas Gading.
Its deputy president Patrick Uren issued a statement today to make the call.
“PBDSB will support DAP’s candidate in Mas Gading constituency during this GE14. Members and supporters of PBDSB including my personal supporters are urged to go all out to vote for DAP’s candidate Mr Mordi Bimol in the constituency of Mas Gading,” said Patrick.
He said PBDSB gave way to allow a straight fight between Barisan Nasional-Progressive Democratic Party (BN-PDP) candidate Datuk Anthony Nogeh and Mordi and not to split the votes of the opposition.
“Experience from GE13 has taught us that more than one opposition candidate to contest in Mas Gading constituency would bring about a split in the opposition’s votes.
“Meanwhile, in that scenario, BN’s votes will be united and will certainly enhance BN’s easy victory,” said Patrick.
He said BN has not done much for the people of Mas Gading despite their consecutive parliamentary terms in the area.
“Instead BN has made much more promises than implemented; a big deficit in that regard.”
“Unemployment is high. Cost of living is high too as it is compounded by GST. Our Ringgit Malaysia (RM) fetches very low value compared with the rising cost of goods.
“It is time to change in this country. This is why PBDSB has decided not to contest in Mas Gading in this GE14,” explained Patrick. — DayakDaily
