SRI AMAN, April 30: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) promises to fight for a university to be built in Sri Aman if its candidate Cobbold John Lusoi is elected to Parliament.

This is the manifesto of PBDSB for this 14th General Election (GE14) with Cobbold as its sole candidate.

“This is a party manifesto, and if the people of Sri Aman give the mandate and victory to PBDSB, I will have the opportunity to propose this matter in Parliament. This university is for all Sarawakians,” said Cobbold in a statement today.

He said the university would be named Universiti Datuk Tawi Sli in remembrance of the second Sarawak Chief Minister, the late Datuk Tawi Sli.

Cobbold, who is also PBDSB president and candidate for Sri Aman said former Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu once promised to build a university in Betong, but it did not materialize.

“Education is a very important agenda for the Dayak people and this is to produce knowledgeable human capital,” explained Cobbold.

According to him, the building of a university in Sri Aman will also open up employment opportunities for educators and generate socio-economic activities for the local community. — DayakDaily
