KUCHING, March 8: The Dayaks have been urged to vote wisely in the upcoming 12th State Election (PRN12).
Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) president Bobby William in a statement today said the Dayaks stand to lose out especially on their Native Customary Right (NCR) land if they vote for the wrong candidate.
“Dayaks should stop and think for a minute regarding their support for the current government and other parties that claim to champion the rights of the Dayaks.
“Dayaks have nothing to lose if they choose a single political platform in PBDS so their voice can be heard.
“In fact, Dayaks have everything to lose if they chose the wrong candidate as so much is at stake, which is their NCR land,” he said.
Bobby noted the Dayaks remain the largest group in Sarawak but they do not hold a dominant position in politics.
In politics, he said superiority in numbers is a big advantage and is crucial to be dominant in holding the reins of power.
Nonetheless, Bobby said the Dayaks have been fragmented and divided over the years and they were found to be in almost every political parties.
As such, he called on the Dayaks to be united and support PBDS in the upcoming PRN12.
Bobby believed that by uniting the Dayaks under PBDS, the political party will have a strong voice to be heard. — DayakDaily
