KUCHING, March 17: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Dato Ibrahim Baki has been sworn in as a deputy minister during a ceremony at Astana Negeri here today.
The ceremony witnessed Ibrahim receiving a letter of appointment and taking part in an oath-taking ceremony in the presence of Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, which was streamed live via the Sarawak Public Communication Unit’s (UKAS) Facebook.
Ibrahim has been sworn in as a deputy minister in the Ministry of Utility and Telecommunication Sarawak overseeing affairs related to Sarawak Energy and Petros.

He later became a member of the Supreme Council. Prior to being one of the VPs of PBB, he was deputy secretary-general for PBB. His involvement in PBB spans over 40 years.
Currently, he is the chief whip for the Sarawak ruling coalition, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
Apart from being a politician, Ibrahim, who is a legal professional by training, holds an LLB (Hons) from the United Kingdom and is a Barrister-at-Law from Lincoln’s Inn.
