PBB top leadership to decide whether to accept Puncak Borneo MP’s application

KUCHING, June 20: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) top leadership and supreme council will decide whether to accept the application of Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin to join the party.

This is according to its vice president Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and information chief Datuk Idris Buang.

“(I) will leave this matter of YB Datuk Willie’s application to be a member of PBB to the president of the party and its top leadership and supreme council to decide,” Abdul Karim told DayakDaily in a WhatsApp reply.  

At the same time, he thanked Willie for the latter’s confidence in PBB. 

Meanwhile, Idris, when contacted, also said PBB’s top leadership, as well as the supreme council, will decide concerning Willie’s application.

“Personally, I find him (Willie) to be of a good-natured personality. He is very kind and people-centric. He is a gentleman and a very good parliamentarian,” said Idris.

This morning, when Willie presented retirement pension at Kampung Emperoh Semadang, Jalan Borneo Heights, he told the media that he had submitted his application to join PBB.  

The Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities said his application was submitted two months ago.

He set the record straight that following the change of government in 2018, he did not join any party but was parked under Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) to bring the number to support the government of the day.

He hoped his application to join PBB would be given due consideration so that he and the party may work together for the betterment of the people of Puncak Borneo, Sarawak, and Malaysia.

“I hope that my application to join (PBB) will be given due consideration so that we can work together for the betterment of the people of Puncak Borneo, the State and the country,” he said.  — DayakDaily
