KUCHING, June 26: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) is now waiting for the Registrar of Societies’ (ROS) approval to set up its new Youth Movement wing.

Chief Political Secretary to the Premier Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said the party is leaving it to ROS to process their application.

“In the last PBB Triennial General Meeting (TGM), we have approved the setting up of the Youth Movement wing for members aged between 18 to 28 years old.

“Since PBB announced its interest to form the Youth Movement wing, we have collected a pool of names of those who are interested throughout Sarawak to join via online registration and we will proceed with the next process after the approval,” he told reporters after officiating the closing ceremony of the Matang Jaya Youth Open Day, today.

Fazzrudin who is also Tupong assemblyman noted that following ROS’ approval, PBB branches Statewide are also expected to set up their Youth Movement wings at the branch level.

Currently, he added, there are over 1,000 youths in Tupong who have registered their interests in PBB Youth Movement.

Meanwhile, when asked by reporters about the role of the new wing, Fazzrudin said political education would be among the many programs prepared for the new wing members.

“When we talk about the programs, PBB is a political party and of course, the most important thing is to apply political knowledge to these youths,” he said. — DayakDaily
