KUCHING, Feb 11: The upcoming 16th Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) convention will focus on aligning party members with the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s strategic vision, addressing grassroots concerns, and updating the party’s constitution to stay relevant with changing times.
Tupong assemblyman and Chief Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said the convention is important for members to understand the Premier’s mission, strategy, and action plan for Sarawak’s future.
He added that the event would serve as a platform for grassroots concerns to be raised and addressed.
“For the leaders of PBB, their (grassroots members) ideas and issues will be brought up during the convention which will be attended to by the relevant authority,” said Fazzrudin when met by reporters at the PBB headquarters today.
He also mentioned the amendments to the party’s constitution, which are necessary to keep up with the changes in time and the shift in technological advancements.
“The amendments (to the constitution) are made to be in line with the changes. During the convention, you (media) will have the information, but some of the amendments are purely administrative,” he explained.
At the convention, Fazzrudin will serve as a member of the selection committee, and chairman of the security committee, as well as overseeing the media and publicity.
