“PBB members in the Betong zone come from all layers of society and are here today to show our support to the Premier and his leadership,” he said in his speech made available to the media.

Meanwhile, Uggah, who is the PBB deputy president, presented requests from the Betong zone members, among which included stabilised electricity supply in Betong.

“We request the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government to find methods to stabilise the electricity supply in the Betong zone.

“The situation is different from 20 years ago due to the increasing number of families, schools, offices, and modern electrical appliances which reflect the changing lifestyles.

“Blackouts are also common in the area, so we are asking the Premier to look for ways to upgrade the electricity supply in the Betong zone,” he said.

He also requested the upgrading of the Sarawak Rural Broadband Network (MySRBN) in the Betong zone for various reasons, such as Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) which will be disbursed through S Pay Global, for students to study online, and to allow those in the business industry to carry out e-marketing.

“Therefore, we hope Premier will consider upgrading our rural broadband network,” he said.
