KUCHING, June 28: The federal government has agreed to provide additional payments under Prihatin Special Grant (GKP 4.0) to eligible recipients with RM500 to be paid in September and another RM500 in November 2021.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the GKP 4.0 payment will benefit about 1 million micro and small and medium enterprise (SME) entrepreneurs to reduce their monthly liabilities and help their cash flow.
“This include barber shop operators, workshop owners, bakery and cake shops, healthcare centres, etc.
“For micro-entrepreneurs who have yet to receive this assistance, registration will begin to open in mid-July,” he said when announcing the National People’s Well-being and Economic Recovery Package (Pemulih) in a live telecast today.
In total, the government has allocated a total of RM5.1 billion through the GKP initiative.
Under the Strategic Programme to Empower the People and Economy (Pemerkasa) Plus stimulus package, eligible recipients have already received their GKP 3.0 payment of RM1,000 about two weeks ago and will receive another RM500 in mid-July. — DayakDaily
