KUCHING, Aug 2: Parti Sedar Rakyat (Sedar) is willing to accept Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates who want to contest against Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) should the PH leadership intend to withdraw from the next Sarawak election.
Sedar president Dato Othman Abdillah, in a press statement today, said this would strengthen Sedar’s machinery to compete with GPS in as many seats as possible.
“It is important for us to ensure that the people of Sarawak are given a fair and open opportunity to elect representatives who truly reflect their interests and wishes,” he said.
As such, he emphasised that all active political parties in Sarawak that are not aligned with Barisan Nasional (BN) or GPS should not back down.
“They should offer themselves to the people to choose and nourish our democratic system,” he added. — DayakDaily
