KUCHING, Sept 26: Richard Bada achieved a remarkable hat-trick of gold medals after dominating the men’s shot put F41 event during the 2024 Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma) held today at Sarawak Stadium.

According to a TVS news report, adding to Sarawak’s triumph, Richard’s teammates also secured the silver and bronze medals in the same event.

Richard’s winning throw measured 7.73 metres (m), while Teckman Mary recorded 6.92m for silver, and Abdullah Syawal achieved 5.79m to take bronze.

Richard’s gold medal marks the completion of his golden streak in this year’s games, held in Sarawak.

“I’m overjoyed that I was able to win gold in all three events I competed in. I want to thank my family, coach, and friends for their unwavering support,” he expressed during the medal ceremony.

The 31-year-old further shared that his year-long preparations had paid off, as he had set his sights on winning gold medals.

“I have been preparing for a year, and I’m thankful everything went smoothly. Looking ahead, I aim to compete in international events, including the Asian Para Games,” he added.

Richard also claimed gold in the F41 discus and javelin events, making this a truly memorable achievement. — DayakDaily
