KUCHING, Sept 28: A total of 22 new national records were set in the 21st Para Malaysian Games (Para Sukma) 2024 Sarawak.
In addition, Minister of Women, Childhood, and Community Development Sarawak (KPWK) Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said that the para-athletes also reset 71 new Games marks.
“The ability to create a new record is something to be proud of, and this passion really comes from the burning spirit of sportsmanship and the nature of the athletes themselves who want to achieve a step better than before.
“Congratulations to all the athletes who have shown excellent performance. I believe that every achievement that has been achieved in Para Sukma is the first step to a more glorious success,” she said during the closing ceremony of Para Sukma 2024 Sarawak at the Sarawak Indoor Stadium tonight.
For the new national records, 18 were set in swimming, three in powerlifting, and one in archery, while for new Para Sukma records, 33 were set in swimming, 31 in athletics, six in powerlifting, and one in archery. — DayakDaily
