KUCHING, Jan 5: Pantai Damai assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi visited the 13 families affected by the early morning blaze in Kampung Bintawa Hilir earlier today.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Dr Abdul Rahman said the affected families who lost their homes in the incident have been relocated to the Bintawa Hilir Community Hall while some are staying at their relatives’ houses nearby.
During the visit, Dr Abdul Rahman also presented the victims with donations from the Pantai Damai Service Centre, Tabung Baitulmal and Kuching Social Welfare Department, and other agencies.
Apart from that, he also called on members of the public who want to extend their help to come to Kampung Bintawa Hilir and meet Penghulu Lahan Sabu and village head Tahir Kassim.
Earlier today, 44 individuals were left homeless after a fire destroyed seven houses while two others were damaged in Kampung Bintawa Hilir. — DayakDaily
