KUCHING, March 7: A Rest and Service Area (RSA) located in Jelukong, Sri Aman is among the three RSAs that are currently under construction along the Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak.

The Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) Pan Borneo Highway Unit, in a social media post today, said the other two RSAs are located in Sg Arip, Balingian and Lambir.

Meanwhile, in Parliament yesterday (March 6), Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad said the RSAs are provided for motorists to rest and pray along their journey.

He added that the RSAs are not just for the convenience of motorists, but are also aimed at helping local entrepreneurs to generate income by playing host to eateries and weekly markets.

He added that the RSAs, when completed, will be maintained by the local authorities.

Abdul Rahman was replying to a question from Selangau MP Edwin Banta regarding the ministry’s plan to provide rest and recreation facilities along the Pan Borneo Highway, especially between Sibu and Bintulu. — DayakDaily
