Paku Hot Spring in Bau open for visitors starting today

KUCHING, Oct 24: Paku Hot Spring pool in Bau is now open to public as one of the tourist attraction in the district.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh officiated the opening ceremony which was held in Kampung Sibulung, yesterday.

He said through an initiative under his Rural Transformation Project (RTP) amounting to RM300,000, the Paku Hot Spring is now another part of the tourism industry’s product in Serembu area.

“All tourism product available in Serembu area will be using the concept of community-based tourism, where the products will benefit the community.

“Therefore, this Paku Hot Spring is handed over to the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Sibulung so that the income from this tourism activity can be share with the village community,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bau District Council (MDB) secretary Wong Hong Yong conveyed his gratitude to the Serembu assemblyman for giving an allocation to MDB to improve the facilities in the hot spring area.

“MDB will also look for an additional allocation to upgrade the area such as building a barbecue place, chalet, pedestrian area and parking lot in order to attract more visitors,” he added. — DayakDaily.
