KUCHING, Feb 29: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has introduced the Fast Lane Initiative, aimed at attracting more industrial and commercial developments to the Padawan jurisdiction area.
According to MPP, the move, which was unveiled during the MPP Strategic Planning Workshop conducted in January 2024, offers an investor-friendly approach that will enhance economic growth and unlock the potential of the Padawan area.
“By streamlining the building plan approval process, MPP aims to significantly reduce the time required for the approval, counting from the day of plan registration.
“This accelerated timeline will expedite the implementation of development projects and provide a competitive advantage for businesses choosing to invest in Padawan Municipality,” it said in a statement today.
To ensure a smooth execution of the new policy, MPP said they would engage with relevant stakeholders, including the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda).
The council added that through collaborative engagement sessions, they will work together with stakeholders to address obstacles and concerns, gather valuable input, and foster a supportive environment for the implementation of the initiative.
“MPP is excited about the potential of this initiative to attract new investments, create employment opportunities, and spur economic growth in Padawan Municipality.
“The council remains committed to providing a conducive business environment and welcomes strategic businesses and investors interested in exploring the vast opportunities in Padawan municipal area,” it added. — DayakDaily
