Padawan 4X4 Adventure Club opens offroad track, eyes going international

KUCHING, Nov 19: Padawan 4X4 Adventure Club will increase its activities with the ultimate goal of going international in the future.

Club patron Datuk Willie Mongin who is also Puncak Borneo MP said being at the infant stage, the club from time to time will continuously improve any shortcomings to realise the dream.


For a start, the club today opened its offroad track at Ma’asa Eco Tourism & Event Centre along Jalan Semadang-Jembusan. The opening was officiated at by Willie.

According to him, the track is the first in the Puncak Borneo area.

The ceremony also saw participation from 4X4 clubs from Serian, Bau and Bintulu.

“For such activity like this (4X4), I will give my unwavering support because it leads to us participating in healthy and positive activities and making friends to strengthen our unity and harmony,” Willie stressed.

Willie said he will make an annual allocation to the club, starting with RM40,000 next year.

He noted that it has always been the club’s dream to organise activities which generate development and economic spin-off for locals and those in business circles.

The MP cited today’s event where several stalls were opened, thus creating business opportunities.

Willie challenged the club to organise a more grand event next year to benefit the people. — DayakDaily
