“So far, the road upgrade project has achieved a physical progress of 4.7 per cent and is still on schedule.

“I hope these works can be carried out smoothly, according to the specifications and schedule set,” he said in a statement shared on his social media today.

Gerawat, who is also Mulu assemblyman, said the new water supply facility would give residents a cleaner, safer and more reliable source of water.

With electricity now available through the Sarawak Alternative Rural Electrification Scheme (SARES) and telecommunications connectivity also in place, he said the combination of basic utilities and improved road access showed positive progress in efforts to raise the quality of life in rural areas.

“As a representative of the people, I will continue to go to the field and monitor the implementation of such projects.

“We want to ensure that every allocation is truly translated into facilities that directly benefit the people,” he added.

He said the development was not merely about building infrastructure, but also ensuring rural communities received the basic facilities they deserved. — DayakDaily
