KUCHING, June 12: With just over two weeks remaining until the consecration of the new St Peter’s Church in Padungan on June 29, the Parish Council is appealing for public support to raise the final RM2,073,947.41 needed to complete its RM38 million church project.
As of May 31, 2025, a total of RM33,926,052.59 has been raised through donations, alongside a RM2 million grant from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR), bringing the church close to its fundraising target.
In a call to action, the Parish Council urged parishioners and the wider community to contribute towards the remaining amount so that the new church may be consecrated ‘with great pride and debt free’.
