KUCHING, June 6: All construction works in Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) areas are not allowed to operate throughout Movement Control Order (MCO) until June 14, except those listed as being critical services.
In a notice issued today, DBKU director Dr Morshidi Ahmad informed that this order applied to all contractors of construction and maintenance projects under DBKU jurisdiction as well as consultant and professional services involved in the construction industry.
“Throughout the MCO period from June 1 to 14, all construction sectors are not allowed to operate except for critical construction and maintenance works that have been listed in the MCO standard operating procedure (SOP).
“The critical works allowed to continue to be carried out are those that are deemed to pose threat to public and environmental safety and cause inconvenience,” he said.
Hence, Morshidi urged all contractors involved to comply and adhere to the MCO SOP issued by the National Security Council (MKN) and State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) from time to time. — DayakDaily
