KUCHING, June 5: As part of the federal government’s initiatives to encourage online learning for children, online learners will enjoy free Internet access from 8 am to 6 pm.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the federal government is working with telecommunication services providers to provide online learners with a capacity of one gigabyte (1GB) of data for free.
“With the new norm (due to Covid-19), it is important that lives carry on with work and education for children.
“The government is working with telecommunication services provider to provide Internet service with one gigabyte (1GB) for free to all users.
“It is for every Internet user who surfs websites related to education and video conferencing app from 8 am to 6 pm every day.
“This free Internet services will be provided to all until December 31, 2020,” Muhyiddin said when addressing the short-term economic recovery plan during a live telecast at Putrajaya today.
Muhyiddin, who is Pagoh MP, added all Internet users will be given unlimited access to government’s websites as well as using the Covid-19 app, mySejahtera. -DayakDaily
