KUCHING, Aug 16: A 53-year-old man died after his car plunged into a ravine near the Jalan Baleh Dam before Rh Biduk Nanga Sebetung in Kapit today.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 3.06pm, and firefighters from the Kapit station were deployed.
Upon arrival, it was noted that the vehicle the victim was in had plunged into a 100-metre ravine from the main road.
The victim, Pika Rangga, was approximately 50 metres away from the vehicle and was pronounced dead by Ministry of Health personnel.
He was said to have been missing for about a week, and family members had reported his disappearance to the Kapit District Police Headquarters (IPD).
The victim’s body was retrieved and then handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
