SERIAN, Nov 3: A driver died and his passenger was injured after their vehicle lost control at Mile 43 of Kuching-Serian Road yesterday.
According to the state Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt. Alexson Naga Chabu, the incident occurred at 9.33pm.
He said the four-wheel drive (FWD) vehicle heading from Kuching to Serian lost control and ramped into two lamp posts on the road divider, before skidding into the opposite side of the road.
“The 44-year-old driver succumbed to head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement, today.
He added the passenger, sustained injuries on the head and body, and was brought to the Serian hospital for treatment.
The case is investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
