SIBU, Nov 3: Five passengers were injured when a bus landed in a drain in Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, on Saturday night.
According to Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, the incident occurred at 10.30pm.
Based on initial investigations, the bus was heading to Miri from Sibu Bus Terminal when the driver lost control and the bus skidded into a drain on the left side of the road.
“As a result of the accident, five of the passengers suffered injuries and were brought to Sibu Hospital for treatment, while 16 other passengers were uninjured,” according to Stanley in a statement, today.
He also disclosed that the bus driver was also taken to Sibu Hospital for a blood test.
The case is still under investigation. — DayakDaily
