One Covid-19 case reported involving healthcare worker in Kapit

KUCHING, Feb 19: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) revealed Kapit recorded one positive Covid-19 case involving healthcare workers as of today.

According to SDMC in a press statement today, the case was reported in Kapit’s health facility.

The confirmed case today brings the total cumulative number of healthcare workers who have been tested positive for Covid-19 in the state to 191 cases.


As of yesterday (Feb 18), a total of 190 cases involving medical staff infected with Covid-19 were recorded throughout the state’s health facilities.

On another note, on Feb 9, the State Health director Dr Chin Zin Hing revealed that 162 cases were identified among healthcare workers between January and Feb 8 this year, and another four cases were reported on Feb 9, bringing the tally to 166.

The following day (Feb 10), three more medical personnel were reported to be infected with Covid-19, and the figures continue to increase almost daily after that.

A total of four cases were recorded on Feb 13, followed by one case each on Feb 14 and 15, eight cases on Feb 16, and two cases on Feb 18. –DayakDaily.
