MIRI, July 30: The Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) has urged all employees related to the oil and gas (O&G) industry including those under quarantine to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

Miri DDMC, in a statement yesterday, also advised oil and gas companies to make the Covid-19 vaccination mandatory for its employees and staff as part of their internal workplace safety rules, and to ensure compliance with the guidelines under the Occupational Safety and Health (OSC).

“For employees under quarantine at the Offshore Transit Centre (OTC), oil rigs, platforms and ships who have not received vaccination appointment, they are urged to make special appointments with the Lutong oil and gas industry vaccination centre (PPVIN) to receive their vaccination,” it said.

Miri DDMC also urged any eligible individuals in Miri District who have not been vaccinated to get their shots via walk-in at any of the three vaccination centres (PPV) in Miri located at Eastwood Hall, Curtin University and Dato Lee Teck Fook hall of Riam Road Secondary School between 9am and 5pm.
