Nursery owner, assistants detained after infant found with bite marks

KUCHING: Authorities have detained a nursery’s owner and its two caretakers to facilitate investigations into the case of an injured baby believed to have been bitten.

According to news report by Bernama, Padawan District Police Chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the three individuals were arrested at 7pm last night and will be investigated under Section 31 (1) of the Child Act 2001.

“The arrest was made following a police report lodged by the infant’s mother at 9.30pm on Tuesday (Jan 7),” he said.

He added that according to the report filed by the mother, the eight-month-old baby was found to have bite marks on its back. – DayakDaily
