“Yes, I confirmed that he is a police officer stationed at Perak,” he said when contacted by the national news agency today.

Hussein said initial investigations revealed that the victim was killed at the location where her body was found and was believed to have died a few days ago based on body decomposition.

The police have obtained a seven-day remand for the suspect to assist in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which states, ‘whoever commits murder shall be punished with death’.

Judge Nurul Mardhiah Mohammed Redza granted the remand order against the suspect at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Magistrate’s Court in Selangor this morning.

Yesterday (July 15), Hussein announced that Nur Farah Kartini, who was reported missing last Wednesday (July 10), had been found dead in a palm oil plantation at 6pm at Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor.
