KUCHING, April 16: The Northern Sarawak Development Agency (NRDA) says it has successfully completed 70 per cent of 161 planned development projects across Northern region of Sarawak.

In a report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), NRDA regional director Datu Ubaidillah Abdul Latip shared that these projects progressed well, reflecting the strong commitment of all stakeholders in advancing the Northern region’s development agenda in line with the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

“Projects that have been completed or are in progress will be handed over to the relevant agencies for more effective and sustainable maintenance and operation,” he said in his speech during a NRDA’s subcommittee meeting held recently.

Ubaidillah also highlighted that during a mini lab session, a total of 155 projects with an estimated total cost of RM1.9 billion, have been identified.

He noted that these projects meet the main criteria, such as readiness level, potential economic and social impact, support infrastructure needs, and contribution to human capital and entrepreneurship development.

He also emphasised that every planned project must be based on the seven strategic pillars of PCDS 2030. – DayakDaily
