KUCHING, Nov 27: The National Registration Department (NRD) has denied issuing an application for identity card form requiring applicants to vote for Barisan Nasional (BN).

“DENIAL. We inform that the document is FAKE and IS NOT issued by the National Registration Department,” said the NRD in a Facebook statement yesterday.

A photo of the fake document titled ‘Special Application for Identity Card Form’ has been going viral on social media channels. It features the 1Malaysia logo, NRD logo and Malaysian coat of arms.

The form requires applicants to affix both their thumbprints and for applicants to pledge their votes to BN in the upcoming general election.

A section of the form reads: “I, who have affixed my left and right thumbprint below, sincerely promise to vote for Barisan Nasional in the upcoming 14th General Election and if I break this promise, I am ready and willing to receive the consequences by cancelling my identity card.” — DayakDaily
