Not just a fashion accessory: Kuching Autistic Association creates special lanyards for face masks

KUCHING, Jan 18: The Sarawak Initiatives (TSI) has collaborated with the Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) to produce 100 pieces of trendy lanyards for face masks.

Exquisitely handcrafted by the creative people from KAA, the beautiful lanyards are up for sale at RM18 each.

According to TSI, in a media release today, the project was aimed at raising funds for the current and upcoming activities organised by TSI that would benefit the people of Sarawak as a whole.

The TSI working committee has met with KAA president Dr Catherine Chen to receive the lanyards in a simple handover ceremony recently.

TSI pointed out that this collaboration proved that in spite of the various difficulties in life, when given a chance, people living with autism can play a role in the society.

“This was proven by the lanyards, which were conceptualised by the students from ideas to designs, and eventually the creation of the end product.

“With such encouragement, it will without a doubt become a catalyst for personal growth and achievement for KAA students, that their contributions are aiding in the holistic growth of Sarawak,” TSI said.
