KUCHING, July 14: The Malaysian Palm Oil Certification Council (MPOCC) is inviting non-Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certified estates in Sarawak to attend an MSPO workshop in Central Sarawak.

The workshop will be held from July 19 to 20 (Friday and Saturday) at Li Hua Hotel near Sibu Bus Terminal.

MSPO Outreach Officer Paren Nyawi in a press release said the two-day training programme will provide guidance on how to verify objective evidence by documents, ground implementation based on MSPO requirements and safety aspects of field workers.

“In addition to that, the participants also will be trained on the format and content of the Internal Audit Report, Non-Conformity Report and Management Response.

“Upon completion of this training programme, participants should be able to conduct internal audits, write internal audits and non-conformity reports, (identify) root causes and corrective actions,” said Paren.

He said since this workshop is a government initiative, the fees are subsidised by the government.

“You are welcome to send a maximum of two representatives from your estate. Participants are required to bring their own laptop. Kindly confirm your attendance by email to paren@mpocc.org.my, no later than Thursday, July 18,” said Paren. — DayakDaily
