KUCHING, July 14: Firefighters rescued a dolphin that was found stranded at Kampung Trombol near Telaga Air this afternoon.

Petra Jaya fire station chief Tan Min Chai said 10 rescuers were despatched after receiving an emergency call from members of the public at 1.44pm.

Upon arrival at the beach at 2.13pm, they found the 1.3-metre-long dolphin struggling to swim back out to sea.

The firefighters eventually carried the dolphin further out into the water, deep enough for it to swim to safety. — DayakDaily
