KUCHING, Sept 30: Individual and team non-contact sports for the purpose of training, games, matches and tournaments are permitted in all districts of Sarawak under the National Recovery Plan (NRP) Phase 3.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the same goes to organising local and international tournaments or competitions for non-contact sports when outlining the latest updates in the newly released standard operating procedures (SOP) today.

“The tournaments and competitions will be quarantine-based and without the presence of any audiences.

“Permission for the entry of foreign participants and/or officers into Malaysia will be subject to approval from the Malaysian Immigrant Department with a letter of support from the Sarawak Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBSS),” it read.

For any of the abovementioned events, approval from KBSS must be obtained and with SDMC notified.

Meanwhile, recreational and individual leisure sports activities that do not involve human contact are also allowed in public parks with strict compliance with SOP released by KBSS. — DayakDaily
