MIRI, Apr 7: Progressive Democrative Party (PDP) secretary-general Datuk Nelson Balang Rining rebutted allegations made by PBB Ba Kelalan chairman Tadan Arun for claiming 36 students and teachers of the Malaysian Gospel College or Maktab Injil Malaysia (MIM) were being excluded from receiving food supplies.

“I wish to state it clearly, that no such incident happened as he has claimed,” said Balang who is also Ba Kelalan former assemblyman.

He insists that all the foodstuff given was distributed fairly.

He stated that the food was given by Lawas Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Henry Sum Agong and distributed by villagers during the movement control order (MCO) following the Covid-19 outbreak.

Tadan Arun’s statement was published on Monday in a local English Daily.

“He (Tadan Arun) had claimed that all villagers within the Ba Kelalan constituency were given the food assistance , except for these MIM students and their teachers, which is untrue,” he pointed out.

Tadan stated in the news report that villagers from Buduk Nur were helping out the MIM students and their teachers by donating foodstuff as they ran out of supply. —DayakDaily
