KUCHING, April 11: There have been no rabies cases involving humans detected in areas under the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council’s (MPKS) jurisdiction since 2017.
MPKS chairman Dato Peter Minos said he has confirmed this with the MPKS Public Health Section.
“Based on records, no positive rabies case (involving humans) have been detected so far since 2017,” he told DayakDaily via WhatsApp yesterday (April 10).
Recently, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) reported one rabies-positive case in Jalan Song last month.
Meanwhile, Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) recorded 23 animal bite cases involving dogs and cats as of March 25.
On the other hand, Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) recorded zero occurrence of rabies cases in its areas. — DayakDaily
