KUCHING, July 14: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) is reimposing parking fees in areas under its jurisdiction starting today as Sarawak enters Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
MBKS in a Facebook post said the parking fees will be reimposed effective from today onwards at designated coupon parking places.
The council explained that the move is in line with the decision by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to allow almost all economic sectors and business activities across Sarawak to resume operation under Phase Two of the NRP.
To recap, MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng announced during a livestream on June 5 that parking under the council’s jurisdiction was free until the end of the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0 on June 14.
Subsequently, MCO 3.0 was extended to June 28 and later changed to NRP whereby Phase One of the NRP was implemented from June 28 to July 12. — DayakDaily
