KUCHING, June 24: The government has decided that chicken prices in the market will not be left free-floating.
Prime Minister Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the new ceiling price of chicken would soon be announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industries.
“This decision proves the government’s concern to protect the welfare of the Malaysian Family so as not to burden them with recent food price hikes,” he said in a statement today.
Just three days ago, on June 21, the government announced the removal of chicken and chicken eggs maximum prices, effective July 1.
The ceiling prices for chicken and chicken eggs were implemented on Feb 5 and extended to June 30. — DayakDaily
