KUCHING, Nov 5: “We do not want anybody in Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) (to collaborate with others), especially with opposition parties without proper consultation with coalition leaders” says Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) secretary general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
Nanta said this has been happening and other component parties in the coalition do not know how to officially react to it.
“But most of us are uncomfortable with such move by a member of our component (parties).
“So it is important that any component party or anyone in GPS, has to be loyal, transparent, and sincere,” he said during the PBB Sarawak Sibu Zone special convention which was livestreamed via the GPS Facebook page today.
Nanta emphasis that GPS component parties should realise that under the coalition, the parties are like a ‘married couple’ and honesty with each other is a must.
He said that backstabbing will only result in arguments which is what the coalition wants to avoid as GPS is the key to Sarawak’s development.
He also said that the matter is agreeable if it has been discussed with the coalition’s leaders because the coalition does not want political stability in Sarawak to be threatened, which will disrupt the State’s development.
“There is an example already. We have seen it, where everything is being politicised and they argue everyday leaving no space for the leaders to implement development for the rakyat.
“Unlike under Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s leadership, we are focusing on the development and livelihood of the people,” he said. — DayakDaily
