Nine people compounded RM18,000 for gathering in Bintangor salon

BINTANGOR, Sept 16: Nine individuals including the owner of a hair salon were compounded a total of RM18,000 for violating the Movement Control Order.

Bintangor district police chief, DSP Sekam Anoi said a police team monitoring standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance had at about 3.25pm yesterday conducted a check on a hair salon located at Jalan Wharf.

“The team found nine men gathering in a group in the salon and thus had not observe physical distancing,” he said.


Sekam said the owner of the salon was issued with a heavier compound of RM10,000 under Regulation 17 (2) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021.

The other eight men were compounded RM1,000 each under Regulation 17(1) of the same regulation.

“I want to remind the public to observe the SOP at all time. We will not compromise with anybody if they are caught not adhering to the SOP,” Sekam warned. — DayakDaily
