Night clubs, pubs, marathon, fun run, ride disallowed during extended CMCO

KUCHING, March 15: Nightclubs or pubs are still prohibited to operate during the extended Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period in Sarawak from March 16 to 29.

Sports and recreational activities such as fun run, fun ride, marathon, triathlon which involve large gatherings of people and are difficult for physical distancing to be practiced are also not allowed during the period.


The National Security Council in an updated standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Covid-19 listed out those activities as non permissible to operate during the extended CMCO.

The council added games and competitions which involve teams, sports which involve physical touch as well as activities inside the swimming pool are not allowed.

On another note, MKN said massage parlours, spa and reflexology centres in the green or yellow zone of Covid-19 are allowed to operate in accordance with the SOPs issued by the Ministry of Local Government and Housing (MLGH).

The council added only karaoke premises including family karaoke and cinema in the green or yellow zone of Covid-19 are permitted to open subject to the SOPs issued by MLGH. — DayakDaily
